The school summer (kind of) holidays and what to do with the kids?
They have never been down to fancy London so we booked a weekend away to the capital.
A very very early start to catch the train down started a not very relaxing trip. It`s been about twenty years since I had a real visit to London and I`d kind of forgotten just how big it is. Living in North Wales, I think of Bangor as big these days![]()
We visited HMS Belfast, the London Eye, the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, the London Sealife Centre, Tower Bridge, along with the various places you just have to visit , like Picadilly Circus (probaly THE busiest place in the world), I did take a cool silhouette of Eros with the bright lights as a backdrop.
All we seemed to do was walk, walk and walk some more. All our feet were numb at the end of each day. To be fair, the boys were totally shattered at the end of each day but they were great, hardly arguing at all (I don`t think they had the energy to do so).
Of course I had a camera with me. No flash, so all the shots I took were using natural light or whatever light was available. For all of you who know cameras, I was shooting with my 5D mk2 and inside the aquarium I was using iso 6400 @ 1/20th a lot of the time. It was dark! Good job most the stuff in there moves slowly![]()
I did take some random images as well, like the white bike. They use the white bikes as memorials to cyclists who died at that spot. There are many around, showing just how bad it is on the road for cyclists.
Anyway here are some of the shots I took this weekend.
