Every business needs to invest in training. This keeps them on the ball, to brush up on their techniques, and to try new things in a controlled environment.
This training is then taken forward into my weddings, which is all for the benefit of my lovely clients.
As a modern wedding photographer here in North Wales I love to use soft natural light in my wedding photography. I do get my flashes out for some more moody wedding portraits and I wanted to take this technique to the next level.
This week I spent the day with a bunch of other photographers looking to improve their technique too.
We all attended the winter flash training workshop run by one of the country’s leading fashion wedding photographers, Brett Harkness. He is the man behind http://brettharknessphotography.com/training/ . Go and check him out if you want to learn new stuff or just to brush up on your own technique like I did.
The bulk of the day was at Manchester Quays which is a really cool place to shoot.
Many thanks to Brett for the candid and clear teaching and to Kris, his wife for the hospitality. Also to Brett’s hardworking assistants for their humour and patience.
Thanks also to Novak exclusive bridal lounge for the use of the model’s clothing, and the models for braving the chilly Manchester afternoon.
Here are a few of the images I took at the Brett Harkness flash training course. I hope you like them.
