Andrew and Mandy got married three years ago and I was lucky enough to be able to photograph their big day for them.

Now, with the new arrival to their family reaching the ripe old age of 18 weeks they thought it was high time to get some family portraits done in the studio.

A beautiful sunny morning in the Bay, combined with some cute kids who wanted to have a laugh equals a happy photographer.

Outdoor, lifestyle portraits are so much fun, so much more scope to explore the personalities of the subjects.

There is this cool hill in the park that I never new was there. So, cue running about! Even me. I was shattered.

A very slightly different processing on the images, a bit of a boost to the colours to give them a really summery vibe.

I`ve been so busy lately the blog has been a bit left out. I`ll be updating it with a few more family sessions that I`ve done over the next few days.

Here is a composite image of some good friends of ours, Shirley and John, who came to the studio to update their family portraits (which I did for them about three years ago).

I`ve been crazy busy over the last month or so with family portrait sessions and so I`ve been a bit slack with my blogging.

To make things a bit easier for me I`ve knocked up a quick two minute musical slideshow with some of the images from the family sessions.

Christmas is a time when families get together , and as it doesn`t happen that often, it`s a perfect time to have some fun portraits done to remember your time together.

So, along came Paul, his partner and their grandchildren to have a bit of a giggle in the studio between Christmas and new year.

Cute kids and photos go together like a party and bad karaoke so here are a few of the images we got this week.

As a member of “The friends of Ysgol Pen y Bryn” I had the opportunity to photograph all the children who wanted a photo of themselves with the actual Santa on Saturday. I donated my time and ALL the money raised will go straight to school funds.

Obviously I can`t show these photos here but as my two little cherubs are part of the school and had their photo taken I can share that.

Had a very lively shoot today. Three very excitable little girls came with their mummy and daddy to have some portraits done. I last shot the family about two years ago and they thought it was time to update their photographs.
I`ve just chosen a couple of photos of each girl to share today. I`m so snowed under with editing it`s scary.

North Wales photographer- A day out in Blackpool.

We had a family day out in sunny (?) Blackpool this week. It was a really good day out with fat food and fun stuff to do.

We had tickets to go to the famous Blackpool tower circus and took the opportunity to go to the very top of the tower. Annie hates heights so was super brave going up in an elevator that has windows!

We also went into a 3D cinema that was showing a short film about dinosaurs that the boys loved.

North Wales photographer ¦ 2006- My first ever paid shoot!

As this blog is new I thought I`d share my first job with you.

All the way back in 2006 I had my first commisioned shoot. It was to photograph the girls and boys of Pearl Shaw dance school in Colwyn Bay. Up to this point I was still shooting for fun and for friends.

Back then I was shooting with a Canon 300D (woo!) and the bare minimum of equipment. How things have changed.

The shoot was a great sucess and we got some really good, well posed shots. Caroline, the owner and instructor there made sure the students were doing the things they should be doing . It all looked like such hard work being a dancer and I admire the dedication and persistance the students need to get it right.
