What can I say about Iola and Rhys’s wedding? Fun, bordering on hilarious at times, beautiful, cool (in the fashion sense), boiling hot (in the weather sense) and set in the most picturesque part of the world, Nant Gwrtheyrn, North Wales.
They also had their engagement session at Nant Gwrteyrn, you can check out their session HERE
No bridal prep time this week (boo!), instead the day started off at eglwys Llanfaelrhys in the tiny village of Y Rhiw. Almost at the end of the Llŷn peninsula, and overlooking the sea, it was a perfect setting for a welsh wedding.
Not a cloud in the sky all day (rare enough for North Wales), a very light breeze meant pink faces and shoulders by the end of the day (me included).
The wedding reception was a short hop over to the north coast of the Llŷn peninsula, at Nant Gwrtheyrn.
Beautiful Nant Gwrtheyrn
The Nant had been decorated superbly with jars of flowers, books, and more flowers. Did I mention there were flowers?
Rhys looked dapper in his sharp blue suit and Iola, well, looked stunning. The wedding dress, the flowers in her hair and sandals suited her to a tee. She had a beautiful veil borrowed from her mother and her wedding ring belonged to her nain (grandmother for you English readers).
Rhys is a real man’s man, but even the hardest of souls can break down with the emotion of a wedding day, and Rhys shed a few tears several times during the day.
To finish off the official part of the day their first dance was epic! Starting slowly then busting some serious moves to the live band’s playing.
All in all, a very good day indeed.
