At the beginning of March I was lucky enough to be a small part of Rachael and James’s wedding at Owen House wedding barn, in Mobberley. It’s a gorgeous converted barn in the heart of Cheshire. I’ve been dying to visit since meeting them at the Tatton Park wedding fayre.
The day started out with me meeting the girls at Rachael’s parent’s home in Altrincham, Cheshire. A really calm, but excited atmosphere greeted me when I arrived. Everyone doing what they should be, with the bride being expertly made up, and hair looking beautiful.
James and the boys were getting ready not too far away, starting the day with a yummy looking cooked breakfast.
The wedding transport was two vintage Land Rovers. The girls had a cream coloured one, the boys had blue, with a very handy drinks bar inside. Excellent!
After the church wedding ceremony in Cheshire the rain started which cut short the fun at the church. At that point we all headed over to Owen House wedding barn for the rest of the day.
Over to Owen House wedding barn
I’ve seen some beautifully decorated wedding venues in my time, but Owen House wedding barn looked spectacular! Attention to detail was on point, with the flowers and lighting really adding a touch of class.
After the traditional family group photos we had such a laugh in the barn, using the hay bales with the bridesmaids and groomsmen. Group photos, but not as you know them, ending with flying bouquets and a wardrobe malfunction.
Before first dance we were taken over to The Church Inn, in Mobberley, so the bride and groom could have ten minutes to themselves before the evening fun kicked off.
After their first dance the dancefloor was never empty, with some great shapes being thrown by everyone.
All in all, a really great day.
As always, at every wedding, there is more to weddings than portraits. As this beautiful wedding proves 🙂
